Artist's Comments

Just starting fantasy drawing, enjoying it so far, this is the only one that i took to the finished stage. Any tips on improvements etc would be much appreciated. Otherwise just let me know what you think.

I think she looks very good. I don't carry any tips on improvements, when I think she looks awsome.

Great pose and good shading. I wish I had the human figure down as good as you... I'm slowly gettin' there : )

I see a lot of things you need improvements on, mostly involving fore-shortening, you have to get a little more of a grasp on the concept, what usually works for me is pushing the mass so that it obviously blocks out or overlaps over certain areas and is most obviously fore-shortening, in other words I exaggerate, I usually also draw the whole entirety of the piece even the pieces that are blocked out by flesh or otherwise would be unseen in simple sketch circles and such so that it really shows and I have a real good grasp and sense of where things truly are. I can tell that you are more skilled in things that run to the side, her leg looks absolutely gorgeous and very realistic, however at every point where she is fore-shortened it appears as though you did not want to be bold with over-lapping various parts of her body to truly bring out a sense of the fact that you knew exactly where everything was, a three d affect. Perhaps if you have someone pose for you that would help?

Thank you very much for the advice, I will take it into consideration for future pieces.

No problem, there are artbooks out there to help you with refferencing for foreshortening. XD! A really good example of what i'm talking about would probably lie in this pic, though it's totally not human it has the same kind of characteristics of the technique, and I remember I used what I was speaking of when I created this piece

Messenger Especially since he's falling back into the background x.X terrible perspective I know, completely off my game that day lol.
