The conclusion piece for my Advanced Higher Art project. The melting face is meant to represent your defeat of the metaphorical masks and your true self is revealed.
Done in acrylic

Your lighting, contrast, and detail (especially for the crown of leaves on your figure's head) is beautiful. Well done.

Your colours are beautiful and you really projected the feelings you wanted onto the canvas. Peace and acceptance are both strong in this.

I love the shadows and shapes, it really pulls you into the picture. The head is beautiful and the leaves a good touch. The fluidity of the mask is good.

I would be very proud of this piece. What did your teachers say?

Thank you very much! This is actually one of my favourite pieces. I guess they liked it as they could see how it was a conclusion to my project.

I really do love the expressivity of this piece. This could also be the great springboard for a new series of progressive "melting" effects, going into abstraction.
